One of the most famous sites in the world is about to close. From the end of October, New York’s Statue of Liberty is starting a 27 million dollar restoration project meaning the public will be unable to climb the statue for one year.

Authorities stress Liberty Island, where the statue is based, will remain open. But are tourists getting the message? CRI’s Dominic Swire recently visited New York to find out more.
